IS  THERE  A  PROBLEM  WITH  ROBOTO?

Help! Roboto runs slow!
Roboto requires a 4th generation iOS (iPhone4, iPad 1 or better) or an Android device with a 1Ghz processor for optimal performce, as the game draws thousands of polygons and calculates dozens of realtime physics objects per frame at runtime. Also, some people have reported a better framerate with WiFi connection and/or rebooting the device, freeing up its memory. That said, we will also be providing updates to increase performance very soon.

Why will Roboto not download?
If you receive a "Download unsuccessful" message when attempting to download an app, try the following troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

  • For paid applications, confirm your credit card information is up to date by signing in to your Google Checkout account.
  • Clear your Market cache (visit Settings > Applications > Clear cache).
  • Restart your phone, then try downloading the app again.
  • Wait 10 minutes, and try your download again.
  • Confirm there is connectivity to either a wireless or cellular network on your device, and contact your mobile service provider if you aren't connected.
  • Ensure there’s enough space on your phone or tablet for the app to install.
  • If none of the above steps work, try remounting your SD card.
    • Visit Menu > Settings > Storage > Unmount SD card; then remount the SD card from the same menu by selecting Remount SD card, or restart the device if the remount option isn’t available.

If your application has stalled at "Starting download", please use the following troubleshooting steps to help complete your download:

  • For paid applications, confirm your credit card information is up to date by signing in to your Google Checkout account.
  • Cancel and restart the download.
  • Restart your phone, then try downloading the app again.
  • Confirm there is connectivity to either wireless or cellular networks on your device, and contact your mobile service provider if you aren't connected.
  • Try your download(s) using both wireless and cellular network connections, and ensure firewalls aren’t blocking access to ports required for Android Market (TCP and UDP 5228).
  • Make sure your device is signed into Google Talk by following these steps:
    1. Go to your phone’s app launcher, and press the Talk app.
    2. If you’re already signed into Talk, press Menu, and then touch Sign out.
    3. Launch Talk again to sign in.

If unsuccessful after attempting these steps, let Google know, and they'll be happy to investigate further.

If a download you requested from the Android Market website never started on your device, please try the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Your device must be connected to a wireless or a cellular network - please don’t use USB or any other physical connections (contact your mobile service provider if you aren't connected).
  • Try the download with both wireless and cellular network connections, and ensure firewalls aren’t blocking access to ports required for Android Market (TCP and UDP 5228).
  • Make sure your device is logged into Google Talk by following these steps:
    1. Go to your phone’s app launcher, and press the Talk app.
    2. If you’re already signed into Talk, press Menu, and then touch Sign out.
    3. Launch Talk again to sign in.
  • Ensure that your device has at least 20 megabytes of space available for installation. If necessary, try uninstalling some existing applications or moving them to your SD card.
    • To move apps to your SD card, visit Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage applications > select an eligible app > select Move to SD card (if available - note that all apps can be moved to the SD card).
  • Try requesting the download again using the Android Market app from your device.

If unsuccessful after attempting these steps, let Google know, and they'll be happy to investigate further.

Why do I get "Not Enough Memory" when I try to install on my Android ?
Lots of Apps are having this problem on Android devices. Go to Settings>SD & Phone Storage and look at your SD Card space (top) and Internal Storage (bottom). If your device has lots of internal memory (mutliple GBs) go to Settings>SD & Phone Storage>Unmount SD Card, then try installing. After the successful install, go back through the settings and mount your SD card again. This will force the game to install on your Internal Memory.

If you do not have lots of interal memeory and your SD card is full, you may need to either remove some applications or install a SD card with more storage space. Some people have had success with clearing their runtime memory by choosing "Force Stop" on their other Apps (from the Settings>Applications menu), or by rebooting their device. You can also try clearing your cache in your device's web browser.

The game is no longer on my device, do I need to pay again with iTunes?
You can re-download it by clicking the buy button again. The App Store will inform you that you have already purchased the item, but will still download the application again to your account (without charging you).

I have a new device, can I transfer my old save games on to this device from my old one?
Currently it is not possible to reinstate former game data onto a new device.

I accidentally deleted my game and lost my high score, can I get it back?
All leaderboard scores & achievements are remembered by Open Feint and/or Game Center, but gameplay progress is deleted permanently and cannot be retrieved.

The sound has disappeared from my Game, how do I get it back?
By turning the sound on, off and then on again and restarting (switching on/off) the device the sound will work again.
